RAA In Detail – DBP Act Overview and the Importance of Collaboration with Industry Suppliers - AWS

This one hour session offers 1 formal CPD point, performance criteria addressed are 1, 41, 43, 46, 47, 53 from the AACA National Standard of Competency for Architects 2021.

This session will present an overview of the importance of collaboration between practitioners and industry suppliers, in this case aluminium windows, door and facades.
Learning Outcomes:
Describe the DBP Act and the changes implemented after the introduction of the new regulations
Explain the importance of windspeed design and the correct use of the AS4055 & AS1170
Discuss the roles of building consultants specialising in performance solutions and window/door suppliers during the design process
Explore strategies to optimise facade selection during the specification process
Learn how to review window systems test certificates to improve collaboration with facade engineers
