RAA >>> MPARNTWE (ALICE SPRINGS) SEPTEMBER 2025 | INDICATION OF ATTENDANCE

In broadening the Regional Architecture Association’s national network, we are looking to expand our horizons – engaging existing and new members in a wider program of events.

In delivering to both our members and our objectives – we are seeking expressions of attendance for an event to be held in
Mparntwe (Alice Springs) in September 2025.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Creative Directors Bobbie Bayley, Owen Kelly and Tonielle Dempers set out to provide an experience that examines the complexity of the arid and remote places of Central Australia.

Over three days in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and surrounds this gathering will invite delegates to gain a deeper understanding of local complexities.

We will hear, discuss, tour and experience how architecture and adjacent disciplines look different.

We will be exposed to the conditions here that amplify the cultural, ecological and climatic considerations for design thinking. The overlaid challenges of distance, cost, availability, appetite for design and the weight of bureaucracy.

Together we will learn how climate change is and continues to disproportionately affect vulnerable communities of Central Australia.

There will be stories of the ancient and powerful landscape they are embedded in with rich culture, diverse languages, deep knowledge, energised communities and inspiring visions for the future.

EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST

To ensure the viability of this event, we are seeking an indication of intent to attend by email to info@regionalarchitecture.net.au

We would appreciate your thoughtful response whether yes or no, ideally with:

  • Any questions or concerns about travelling to Central Australia

  • Accessibility concerns/requirements to inform planning for Tjoritja (West - MacDonnell National Park) with option of camping.

  • Any barriers to attendance

IMPORTANT NOTES

Ticket pricing will reflect an expanded program, including return transport to Tjoritja (West MacDonnell National Park), from Alice Springs. Travel to and from Alice Springs will not be not included.

10 formal CPD points will be available.

Participants will be actively encouraged to expand their own programs beyond the 3 days and we will be providing ideas for other activities or places to visit.

We also welcome any feedback that will assist in the planning of future RAA events - in expanded, regular, or minimised formats so we can continue to provide events that engage existing members and encourage new members.
