RAA PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING
Regional Architecture Association's event ‘CENTRED – making space for community’ will be photographed and filmed for the promotional and educational purposes of the organisation. By attending, you confirm that you consent to yourself being photographed/filmed for this purpose. If you have any concerns about this, please contact Rhiannon on info@regionalarchtecture.net.au

IMPORTANT ITEMS TO BRING
Please ensure you BYO a reusable coffee cup and water bottle. Also bring your own paper and pen or electronic device to record your CPD learnings. And come prepared with your swimmers/wetsuit/goggles if you’re up for that Saturday morning ocean swim!

CARPOOLING & COMMUNICATION
We have set up an event specific WhatsApp group  for CENTRED, which all delegates will be invited to join. This can be used to facilitate carpooling arrangements between attendees, communicate event information and advise of any last-minute changes.
  
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
If you forgot to advise us of any dietary requirements on registration through Humanitix, please let us know ASAP by emailing info@regionalarchtecture.net.au

CPD
There will be a total of 6 formal CPD points available across Friday 14th June. The relevant performance criteria are published here and RAA will provide all attendees with a certificate for formal CPD following the event. The Board of Architects requires participants maintain a record of learnings in relation to identified competencies and for these to be uploaded with the certificate.

Delegates can make their own assessment for informal CPD for fringe events.

THURSDAY INFO.

All locations for Thursday afternoon are within easy walking distance, no car is needed unless you have to drive from your accommodation.

The 3:30-5:00pm Local Yamba Walking Tour will start from the car park at the Yamba wharf (at the end of River St). Wear clothing suited to the weather, a hat, and sturdy walking shoes. Sketch book optional. The wharf is a block away from The Schoolhouse where the walk will conclude.

The 5:00-6:00pm Social Gathering & Site Visit to ‘The Schoolhouse’ is at 44a Wooli St, Yamba. Gin will be available from Yamba Distilling Co. Bring a warm layer for when the sun goes down. The Schoolhouse is located 1min walk from the Yamba wharf car park if people need to return to cars or drop things off.

The 6:30-8:00pm Community Dinner (buy your own) is situated at the Yamba Golf Club on River St, Yamba, a 5min walk from the Schoolhouse. There will be a group booking for the Regional Architecture Association.

FRIDAY INFO.

Yamba Surf Life Saving Club, where Friday daytime talks, panel discussions and meals will take place is situated at 1 Marine Pde, Yamba.

Coffee is available from the Kiosk attached to the Surf Life Saving Club located on Yamba’s Main Beach.

The 6:30-9:00pm dinner will be at a separate venue, The Wobbly Chook. This is situated at 26 Coldstream St, Yamba.

SATURDAY INFO.

Meet for the Ocean Swim at the Yamba Surf Life Saving Club Kiosk on the Main Beach, 1 Marine Pde. Arrive by 8.20am to set off at 8.30am with the group. The swim is from Main Beach to Convent Beach and back. Typically finishing by 9am, back at Main Beach. Bring swimmers, googles, and towel, flippers and swimming cap are optional.

The 10:00-10:30am site visit to the Birrinba Sentinels is under the Harwood Bridge, Yamba Road nr James Creek Road, 18 min drive from the Surf Club. Park under the bridge on the left (passanger) side of the road. Artist Al Stark will be on site to briefly address delegates.

The 11:00am-12:00pm Site Visit to the Toumbaal Plains House is on Sandon River Rd, about 30 minutes drive from the Harwood Bridge. The last few kilometres are along a dirt road with variable conditions. Though 2WD access is available it is recommended delegates car pool in 4WD where possible from the corner of Brooms Head Rd & Sandon River Rd where the dirt road starts. The driveway to the house is located on the right side of Sandon River Rd, about 5.5km (7min) drive from when the dirt road starts, a RAA sign will be on the corner. Please park on gravel, not the grass when you get there and remove shoes before entering house. Architect Fergus Scott will be there to take delegates through his project.
 
The 12:30-2:00pm buy your own lunch is at the Sanctus Brewery at 5 Re Rd, Townsend. There will be a group booking for the Regional Architecture Association.

ACCESS INFO.

GETTING HERE, GETTING SETTLED AND GETTING AROUND

Yamba is:
- 1hr 15min from Ballina Airport (direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne)
- 1hr 30min from Coffs Harbour Airport
- 2hr from Gold Coast Airport
- 3hr drive from Brisbane
- 7hr drive from Sydney .

There is a train to Grafton, with connecting bus from Grafton to Yamba.

a car will not be required to attend event once here, everything walking distance between accomm options and venue. However there are currently not great airport transfer options from the airport).

Car pooling is encouraged for house tour on Saturday.
