Member Code
Members of the Regional Architecture Association are dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and competence. This Code of Behaviour provides guidelines for the conduct of members in fulfilling these obligations.
1. A member shall not knowingly violate any law or regulation.
2. Members shall not engage in conduct involving fraud or wanton disregard of the rights of others.
3. Members must conduct their affairs in a professional manner, including but not limited to refraining from : (a) dishonourable or discourteous conduct towards a person or entity; (b) conduct unbecoming in the professional or personal life of a member; (c) harassment, discrimination or other failure to comply with human rights laws. d) behaviour that would reflect unfavourably on the Association.
4. A member shall not falsely or maliciously injure the professional reputation or business prospects of another member.
5. When making a public statement a member shall disclose whether they have a related personal or business interest, or whether they are being compensated for making such statements.
6. Members serving in a public capacity shall not accept gifts or payments, which are intended to influence their judgement.
7. A member must ensure that all advertising, marketing and other promotional information is accurate, factual and not misleading.
8. A member shall not knowingly make, or assist others to make, a misleading, deceptive or false statement, or an omission of material fact, about their professional qualifications, education, training, experience, performance or character, and shall accurately state the scope and nature of their responsibilities in relation to work for which they are claiming credit.
9. A member shall not use the word “architect” to describe themselves, unless they are registered in accordance with the relevant state legislation.
10. A member shall treat colleagues and employees with mutual respect.
