Rob Stefanic will discuss managing the structures and environments (including heritage) of the Parliament and similar institutions.

ROB STEFANIC

Rob Stefanic was CEO of the Department of Parliamentary Services for the Parliament of Australia from December 2015 to December 2024. In this capacity, he was custodian of Parliament House Canberra.

Prior to this role, Rob was CEO for the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) for the Parliament of NSW for 4.5 years and custodian of NSW Parliament House, one of the most significant heritage buildings in Australia.

DPS is the principal corporate support department for the Australian Parliament responsible for functions including maintenance of the parliamentary estate and The Lodge, visitor services, physical and cyber security, parliamentary ICT services around the nation, Parliamentary Library, Hansard, broadcasting, civics education and hospitality.

During his term, Rob has overseen the most significant capital works projects at Parliament House since its construction. The success of the change was enabled by the effective management of the Architect’s design intent and a strong relationship with its moral rights custodians.
