Jason Elsley of Derive Architecture will present Murrook Culture Centre, Newcastle. This collaboration between Derive Architecture & Design and the Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC), began in 2013. Recognised at the 2024 Newcastle Architecture Awards with both a Public Architecture Award and Colorbond Steel Architecture Award, Murrook is a culturally significant, multifunctional space, created through a comprehensive masterplan that integrated the Worimi people's vision.

Derive Architecture & Design

Jason Elsley is a director of Derive Architecture & Design in Newcastle. An award-winning architect, his experience includes commercial, tourism and hospitality, private residential, adaptive reuse, cultural and heritage projects. Jason advocates for the profession through his work with the AIA Newcastle Division, was on the University of Newcastle School of Built Environment Industry Advisory Panel, and advisor to Council on the Newcastle Strategic Plan.
