Booking note: Full Event ticket includes Main Seminar Day on the Friday as well as a Fringe Program of optional events on the Thursday and Saturday; these are designed to offer further opportunities to engage with the local area in a fun and relaxing way. WEDNESDAY 28TH MAY 1-2PM ONLINE
Professor Anthony Burke - Architect, UTS Professor, TV presenter of Restoration Australia, Grand Designs Australia, Grand Designs Transformations. How are regions well placed to help ease the housing crisis? How can country towns take up the overflow from crowded cities? Big dreaming + nuts & bolts. Can one project have a ripple effect?? Topics, renewal in regions. Examples from TV programs? How will AI influence future architecture?

Alastair Flynn Woods Bagot, Project lead, UTAS Hobart – restoration of former Forestry Tasmania building. Working with Dungog builder Shane Hannan. Largest use of hempcrete in commercial project, hempcrete now fire-rated for commercial use. Klara Marosszeky Australian Hemp Masonry Company (AHMC) - Hempcrete buildability / Strides in the Australian industry, new fire ratings/certifications etc that make hempcrete now widely applicable.
