RAA In Detail – Fundamentals of Polycarbonate Building Materials and Compliance Issues – Danpal

This one hour masterclass offers 1 CPD point, performance criteria addressed are 12, 39 and 45 from the AACA National Standard of Competency for Architects 2021.
Danpal is the leading manufacturer of polycarbonates in Australia and supply material to all sectors of the construction/ building industry. They have been in Australia for over 30+ years.
This CPD runs for approximately 1 hour, including time for Q&A, and will be hosted by Jeff Trevarthen, Danpal’s NSW/ACT Specification Consultant. Jeff has worked in the building industry for over 30 years and has a good knowledge of Laminates, Timber Veneers/Flooring, Insulation, AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) and Polycarbonate systems. He is highly experienced in working with architects, developers and consultants on a national basis to achieve product specifications in the construction of buildings and developments in residential, multi- residential, commercial, retail, industrial, health, aged care, civil and landscape segments. Engaging with all stakeholders, Jeff works to fully understand the project requirements in order to achieve solutions and system specifications that meet or exceed the criteria.

Provide independent, culturally responsive and objective advice in accordance with relevant building codes, standards, technical specifications and guidelines, and planning regulations, including climate change implications, across all aspects of architectural practice.
DETAILED DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
· PC39 -Polycarbonate Properties and Performance
Be able to integrate the material selection, structural and construction systems established in the conceptual design into the detailed design and documentation.
· PC45 Suitable Applications for Polycarbonate and Polycarbonate Issues
Be able to nominate and integrate quality and performance standards with regard to selected materials, finishes, fittings, components and systems, considering the impact on Country and the environment, and the whole life carbon impact of the project. This includes integrating life cycle assessments and other expertise and advice from consultants.
